Where do I get a diagnosis?

The initial point of diagnosis, even a preliminary one, will most probably be with a GP. Recent research has found that doctors can be reluctant to diagnose dementia because of a lack of support from NHS and social care services. If you feel this is the case speak to the GP openly and ask for a second opinion if you feel it necessary.

The NHS Choices website has a good summary of the types of dementia tests that may be offered in order to receive a diagnosis. Click here for the NHS Dementia Diagnosis Tests
