The work of the Society is focused on a number of key areas:
* Research
* Campaigning – raising public awareness of Dementia and influencing public policy making both nationally and locally.
* Support for carers and those living with dementia including:
* National Helpline 0300 222 11 22
* Talking Point – an online forum offering peer support
* Side by Side services - a unique befriending services that encourages those living with Dementia to live well.
* Dementia Friends
* A social action movement funded by the Department of Health for England, led by the Alzheimer’s Society as one strand of it’s work to create Dementia Friendly Communities
* A range of Information including fact sheets, booklets and other resources on all aspects of Dementia
